About 21st Century Conservatism
21st Century Conservatism endeavors to promote conservative values in a way that is relevant to modern Americans. This website provides a listing and review of published and web resources available to those interested in all facets of conservatism. Founding documents, such as the US Declaration of Independence and Constitution are also available on the site. 21st Century Conservatism also provides online copies of many important speeches and publications in the public domain by and about famous conservatives. Lastly, several series of videos made by 21st Century Conservatism are available for viewing online.
Conservatism is more than a political philosophy; it is a way of living your life. Barry Goldwater once said to his 19 year old son, "There is no foundation like the rock of honesty and fairness, and when you begin to build your life on that rock, with the cement of the faith in God that you have, then you have a real start." 21st Century Conservatism provides many resources to help you build on that rock of the preservation of moral order and of tradition, faith in God, capitalism, anti-communism, American exceptionalism, a strong military, smaller federal government, and lower taxes.
We take the values and principles of conservatism seriously. We believe that conservative principles provide the answers needed to live in the 21st century. As such, we follow the rules below for all of the content on site:
- Content must be relevant. If your life is not changed because of the information, then it is either fluff or gossip. (Gossip can be factual, but it is still irrelevant!)
- Content must be accurate. Facts must be backed up by a minimum of three sources.
- Opinions are backed up by facts. If a given opinion has better factual support than the opposing view then it wins.
- Ideas are attacked, not people. Name calling does not promote the cause.
- We have no interest in political correctness whatsoever! If you hold a contrary view on an issue, wonderful! It then becomes a matter of debate engaged under rule numbers 3 & 4.
A brief comment on humor is appropriate here. Unfortunately, there seems to be a lack of understanding and appreciation of satire and sarcasm among many people. Because satire often combines anger and humor it can be profoundly disturbing - because it is essentially ironic or sarcastic, it is often misunderstood, when it hits too close to home this is especially so. All humor must have at least a grain of truth to be funny. If you are offended, see #5 above.
